The magazine centerfold illustrated a futuristic city operating civic services through sustainable design, The Efficient City boasted vertical farms, green roofs, and green spaces… functional aesthetics of which a growing city with an entrepreneurial spirit (say, Columbus, Ohio) could deploy.

In 2017, friends at Wolf’s Ridge Brewing reached out about the potential construction of an indoor, vertical garden. With organic and aquaponic farming experience, and help from a small network of service industry friends, Katie designed and built the 40’ x 4’ hydroponic installation, which is maintained to this day. Shortly after, Green Street Design was born, and has since grown into a network of local partners, landscapers, contractors, and temporary or seasonal employees.
